Black Friday Countdown

So as we are all preparing our stomachs for the endless amount of turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and my Mother's famous Mississippi Mud Pie (wipe drool off of mouth) I have one thought on my brain. I have been planning it for weeks and making list after list, I visit various websites trying to find out which stores has released their Black Friday ad. I text my sister and we decide if we will even go to sleep that Thursday morning. In Fresno the Fashion Fair Mall will be open at Midnight and most stores will be open to kick off the Christmas shopping early. Old Navy opens their doors at 3 AM and Sears at 4 AM. Most of the popular stores such as WalMart, Best Buy and Target open their doors at 5 AM.

Citizens of Fresno please remember the spirit of giving this Black Friday. I don't want to see another episode of what happened in 2006 at Best Buy. If you cannot recall the incident I have one word: PS3, but if you still can't remember click here.

This year there are some great deals on LCD TV's and of course digital cameras. Stores seem to be cranking out the good deals and earning the respect of the shopper once again. CNNmoney.com posted an article about the top 11 hottest items so far for Black Friday and thank goodness none of the items I am after are on the list. If you want to see which items will cause all the ruckus on Friday November 27th then click here.

Walmart has decided to help the avid Black Friday shopper as well as the "newbie" by encouraging shoppers to plan ahead. How can one plan ahead to shop at Walmart? Well by visiting Walmart's website (starting next week) and downloading a map of the Walmart you plan to shop at. The map will include locations of special items for friday shopping.

I plan ahead by viewing the ads online as well as on Thanksgiving evening. Also remember to take ads with you as you're in line at 4 AM in the freezing cold weather and it will help remind you why you're insane and standing in line instead of in bed! If you're ready to start your list making and spend hours or minutes browsing ads then click here and let the festivities begin!

Good luck and remember to be FRUGAL FRESNO!
